So, you're interested in brewing your own beer. as of a few months ago so was i, and i really didn't know where to start. it took me several weeks of searching to find this collection of links. If you're interested in brewing beer i recommend starting off by reading the following several times, until you get the concept of what you'll need to do (it's simpler than you think), and starting to acquire equipment.

!-- hbd.org
--> hbd.org
this is the link that i actually used for my 1st brew. the instructions are short simple and to the point, not trying to teach you too much as they walk you through the process. though it does leave you hanging on where to go next (see below). and my beer turned out pretty good...
one thing i could warn you of with this intro/doc is the bottling phase. they tell you to use "2 oz" of corn sugar for bottling. what is this 2 oz? i have no idea. I've since learned that if you want a mildly fizzy/foamy beer, use 1/2 cup corn sugar. if you want a really fizzy/foamy beer use 3/4 cup corn sugar. good luck! update 20200503 - apparently as of 2016 this link stopped being active. i have updated the link to utilize archive.org's "Wayback Machine"

everything2
this is one that really gets into some of the nitty gritty. and i like everything2, i can only assume this guide was written by an average joe brewer, and it's quite good. plus everything2 is a fun place to check out. it's cool.

howtobrew.com
this is pretty sweet because it has pictures, and an in-depth intro to the whole of brewing, and will take you a little beyond your 1st batch. its actually an old edition of the book written by a John Palmer called How to Brew
